Essay

Three models of degenerate dwarfs were developed, which generalize Chandrasekhar model. It was proposed the interpretation of the observed white dwarf mass (radius) distribution based on nonmonotonic full energy dependence on microscopic model parameters. The inverse problem of degenerate dwarf theory was considered in the frame of developed models -- model parameters of observed degenerate dwarfs were found using the masses, radii and effective temperatures determined from their spectra. The central densities and temperatures of a large number of white dwarfs were estimated and it was obtained the dependence between central and surface temperatures which is similar to results of another authors. The influence of finite temperature effects on microscopic parameter values and macroscopic characteristics was investigated. In addition, it was considered more carefully stability of degenerate dwarfs with masses close to Chandrasekhar mass limit.
