The thesis focuses on the prototypic characteristics of speakers who tell lies. The liar’s language personality is constructed as a model comprising prototypic cognitive, pragmatic and linguistic characteristics of speakers who resort to deceptive speech. The peculiarities of verbalization of the concept LIAR in the English language picture of the world are also analyzed.
