Melnychuk J. The phenomenon of the preaching word in Ukrainian Orthodox tradition

The dissertation is a complete philosophic and religious research which contains a complex interpretation of the phenomenon of the preaching word in Ukrainian Orthodox tradition. The research founds out the hermeneutic nature of the preach, its social determination, sacralisation of delivered word and its suggestive nature. The author analyzing the preach as a communicative and semiotic process distinguished the following significant components: the symbol means (preach), sense (text), interpreter (listeners who perceive a continuous symbol text) and interpreters (adherents who interpret a system of symbols used in the preach). The duality of the preaching word is realized by materializing in concrete actions. The analysis of the preaching retrospective of the Orthodox Church representatives helped to identify the philosophical and social characteristics of the phenomenon and the specific characteristics of the preach in the Ukrainian Orthodox tradition. The transformational characteristics of the phenomenon in modern social and cultural space of Ukraine on the theoretical and functional levels of existence were revealed. The new trends of the Ukrainian Orthodox preach were also pointed out.
