The author defines the economic substance of the concepts of "economic risk of machine-building enterprise" and "economic risk of machine-building enterprise managing", new classification features risks are dedicated, characteristics of risk management strategies are presented. Current methodological approaches to the analysis and evaluation of economic risk are summarized, the scheme of risk assessment on the results of the statistical analysis is offered. The modern state of machine-building enterprises of Ukraine in terms of overcoming the financial-economic crisis is investigated and the effectiveness of economic risk management in these enterprises is analyzed.
