The thesis presents a comprehensive analysis of the genesis of the English diplomatic terminology, composition and functioning of the terminological system in the English diplomatic discourse. Structural types, as well as semantic, pragmatic and functional features of terms of the diplomatic discourse are described. The discourse-building potential of terms in the texts of diplomatic speeches is characterized.
