Golovko V. Citizenship in a World-System perspective

The object - the political dimension of citizenship in the context of the historical development of the world-system. The aim - detection of the role and place of citizenship in political practices, a complex theoretical disclosure of its impact on the formation of nation-states, the reproduction of inequality within modern world-system, and differentiation of the access of individuals and groups to certain rights. Methods - the unity of general and special methods of political science; world-system analysis etc. Theoretical and practical results - theoretical and applicable aspects of impact of citizenship on the reproduction of inequality within the structure of world-system. Novelty - complex analysis of citizenship in the world-system perspective was made; the author's interpretation of political dimension of citizenship was introduced; the role and place of citizenship in the process of the nation-building, political modernization and constitutional transit in Ukraine were analyzed. Practical application - while preparing of studying programs; for development of Ukrainian citizenship laws. Sphere of use - the activity of the power structures, and social-political institutions.
