Object: processes of state regulation of economic competition and the competitive environment in the banking sector of Ukraine. Purpose: To deepen the theoretical and methodological foundations of economic competition and the formation mechanisms of state regulation of competition in the banking sector of Ukraine Methods: A systematic and structural and functional analysis, logical, historical, scientific abstraction, economic and statistical analysis. It is offered: methodical approaches of estimation to efficiency of state regulator mechanism in the conditions of forming of the social oriented form of market economy of Ukraine. It is offered: The system of state regulation of economic competition in the banking sector; improved: definition of the term "economic competition in banking" approach to the classification of economic competition, depending on the methods used to gain competitive advantage and scientific principles to develop mechanisms effective implementation of competitive potential sub the objects of the banking business.
