Object - the Ukrainian historiography in the second half of XIX - early XX century.Subject - forming historiographical areas in Slobozhanschyna and South Ukraine. The purpose - to test the model search and study of regional historiography on materials Slobidska and South Ukraine. Methods - the universal principles of historicism, scientism, objectivity. General scientific methods - analysis, synthesis, simulation, system-structural. Special methods: historical-genetic, historical, comparative, retrospective, personological, prosopographic, comparative, historiographical analysis and synthesis. Theoretical and practical results, innovation - the first time in Ukrainian historiography the problem of studying regional historiography in the second half of XIX - beginning XX centuryof is raised as a combination of professional, amateur and daily levels of historical knowledge. The results are implemented in the educational at historical faculty of Dnepropetrovsk National University of Oles Honchar.
