The thesis is devoted to the research of the evolutional peculiarities of Serbian bayan-accordion performing in the context of actualization of its popular folk and academic forms. Retaining expressed autonomy, but mutually enriching each other, these two performing areas reflect the ambivalence of the Serbian national character and define the culture of Serbia in many respects nowadays.
