Galuiko R. The phenomenon of icons worship in the theological and philosophical traditions of Orthodoxy

The dissertation is a research from a philosophy point of view that grounds the development of theological and philosophical tradition of worship of icons. Analysis of the history of icons and the development of icon worship has demonstrated the difference between the theoretical philosophical and practical religious aspects of modern Christian icons that has not been typical for the Orthodox tradition. It has been remarked that the current conceptual and theoretical difference from the classical understanding of icons and worship of icons has a negative impact on the religious and practical aspects that can emerge of modern icons that is not always appropriate to follow the iconographic canon principles in the classic sense of the term.
