Essay

The impact of nuclear component on the international relations within the regional security complex in South Asia nowadays is under examination in the present thesis. The security dilemma in the Subcontinent was analyzed through the prism of the realistic, liberal and constructivist schools of international relations. The fundamental differences in the geopolitical codes and military doctrines of India and Pakistan concerning the approaches to the response on aggression and regime of nuclear weapons’ usage were established. The author proved that the overt nuclear deterrence in South Asia had limited India’s ability to deliver the full-scope strike in response to Pakistan thereby fostering the proliferation of the nonconventional wars practice and transforming the indo-pakistani conflict into the permanent local crises format. The list of nuclear threats to the regional countries was widened in the manuscript. In the thesis the sufficient attention is paid to the nuclear weapons feedback of the processes of internal and external transformation within the scope of the South Asian RSC.
