Batkovskyy V. Banking system in ensuring financial stability in Ukraine.

The dissertation systematically outlines the main approaches to the definition of "financial stability" and elaborated its scope. The theoretical justification for the role of the banking system has been carried out with regard to ensuring financial stability based on the agency model. The scope and nature of the changes in the modern architecture of financial regulation have been identified in the context of the priority to ensure financial stability. The banking system features associated with as financial stability have also been justified, as well as the directions and the nature of this relationship. The quantitative assessment method of banks' impact on financial stability has been proposed. The signs of financial globalization in the banking system have been determined defining new requirements to ensure financial stability. Structural changes in the banking and financial industry and contradictions of modern financial markets associated with globalization-triggered transformations were singled out. Directions for improving banking regulation in Ukraine have been proposed in the inaugural dissertation based on the implementation of best practices of other countries in establishing systems to ensure financial stability.
