Essay

Object of study: the electrochemical processes of the formation of composition-modulated copper-nickel coatings. The aim of the study: the development of resource-saving technology of electrodeposition of the composition-modulated nickel-copper coatings with high mechanical and corrosion resistance. Methods: linear and cyclic voltammetry, Vickers method, X-ray analysis, scanning electron microscopy, the method of flexible cathode. Theoretical and practical results: the resource-saving technology of electrodeposition of composition-modulated copper-nickel coatings showing both high anti-corrosion, mechanical properties and adhesion to the electronegative basis is developed. Scientific novelty: the polyligand electrolyte for the formation of multilayer Cu/(Ni-Cu) coating is proposed; the potential region of stable operation of the combined anode is found; the mechanism of the copper and nickel nucleation in pyrophosphate-ammonium electrolyte is studied; the surface of the base of the magnetic NdFeB alloy is proved to passivate in the presence of ammonium ions in the electrolyte; the solution for voltammetry analysis of thin alloy films is proposed. Degree of implementation: the testing of the mechanical and corrosion properties of the coatings were carried out at ScPA "Sinta" (Kharkiv), the technology of the metal extraction were used at Ltd. ScC "Ecos" (Kharkiv). Application area: the industries of instrumentation, automotive, shipbuilding; electrochemical technology industries; at the research institutes and educational process.
