In the thesis complex research of history of creation, existence and cancellation of the British mandate of The League of Nations, in the territory of Iraq (1920 - 1932) carried out. The reasons for which Mesopotamia (Iraq) became the center of concentration of political and economic interests of the British Empire found, the history of establishment of the British mandatory mode in the country and formations of the Kingdom Iraq. Considered, the administrative, social and economic, ethnic and religious policy of Great Britain that pursued in Iraq within the mandate of The League of Nations analyzed, the assessment given to its results. Dissertation research represents the attempt of complex research of history of the British mandate of the League of Nations first in the Ukrainian historical science, in the territory of Iraq and all aspects of the mandatory policy pursued by Great Britain. Based on the analysis of a domestic and foreign historiography, degree of a readiness of a problem revealed and the perspective directions for further researches defined. A number of the sources containing valuable data, concerning subjects of dissertation research introduced into scientific circulation.
