Essay

Features of and procedure for provision of legal assistance to the witness by the lawyer in criminal proceedings are examined. Stages of development of legislation and theory of criminal proceedings are defined. The concepts and types of legal assistance provided by lawyer to the witness are examined. Problems of procedural status of witness as well as that of the lawyer, who provides legal assistance to the witness, are analyzed. Peculiarities of provision of legal assistance to the witness during interrogation and other proceedings on his part are discussed.
