Kobtceva O. The stabilization effectiveness of upper jaw abutment teeth in orthodontic treatment of dentofacial anomalies with fixed appliances

Object of study: dentofacial anomalies with a deficit of space for the permanent teeth of the upper jaw (UJ). Objective: to improve the efficiency of orthodontic treatment of dentofacial anomalies by improving the stabilization of the abutment teeth of the UJ when using non-removable appliances. Methods: clinical, anthropometric, biometric, x-ray, photometric, statistics. For the first time a direct correlation between the width of the face and the type of jaw growth. Advanced scientific knowledge on the use of ligature binding to stabilize the abutment teeth. First developed quantitative criteria for assessing change positions of the first molars of the UJ. Advanced scientific knowledge of the dependence of the body mesial shift and mesial axial inclination of the upper first molars on the extent of the primary deficit of space. First achieved efficiency of orthodontic treatment with fixed technique with removal of the upper premolars for the use of the developed method to stabilize the abutment teeth of the UJ. Proposed and put into practice the method of rapid diagnosis of type growth of the jaws, a quantitative classification of orthodontic support of the UJ, a way to stabilize the abutment teeth of the UJ. Results have been implemented in five hospitals of Ukraine, and the main provisions of which are incorporated into the program of lectures and workshops 4 medical universities in Ukraine.
