The paper presents the research of theoretical, methodical and practical problems of forming and efficiency using of machines and tractor fleet in Zhytomyr region. The es-sence of the machines and tractor fleet is defining. Method of economic efficiency has been improved on the basis of the criteria index. Justified of directions forming machines and tractors fleet, including - state support that based on financial leasing, creating agency financial and economic development of agricultural enterprises. Comprehensive approach efficiency machines and tractor fleet was designed, which consists of four areas: improving the training of machine operators and maintenance; increasing the intensive loading technique; use of technique on a cooperative basis; use of alternative sources of fuel.
