The dissertation is devoted to the features of the initial phase of the investigation about theft of crude oil and oil products from main pipelines, and formulated recommendations for the improvement and optimization of the investigation and search operations of detection and investigation about these crimes. According to the analysis of the investigation files and analyzing scientific papers identified particularly oil and oil products, as objects of criminal assault, given their specific properties.
