Tarangul I. Female images in the mythological space (historical - literary aspects).

The thesis is dedicated to the complex analysis of the main tendencies of functioning of Antigona and Kassandra mythological images in the literature of ХХ century. The main factors of formation of Antigona and Kassandra traditional images and their further re-comprehension were investigated. Semantically active components of the original plot for modern transformations were determined. While using the analysis of modern semantic changes in the images of Antigona and Kassandra we have defined that their transformational range has been founded in the ancient versions. The forms and the ways of using content characteristics of Antigona and Kassandra images in new plots were analysed. Due to the analysis performed we can confirm that the mythological images of Antigona and Kassandra in the process of transformation have shown the universal ability to the semantic movement, organic adaptability to the aesthetic needs of another cultural - historical epoch.
