Andreychuk M. The features of geological structure and hydrocarbons traps of Outer zone of the PreCarpathian deflection

Object of investigation: geological structure of the Outer zone of Carpathian foredeep; subject of studies: hydrocarbons’ traps and accumulations; methods of investigation: correlation of wells’ sections, lithofacial analysis based on archive materials on core investigations and well-log investigations, paleotectonic and paleogeomorphologic modeling using the modern geoinformatic technologies, reprocessing of seismic data in processing system ProMAХ2D and partly in system SPS-PC; practical value: geological structure of the Neogene cover and Mesozoic basement of the Outer zone of Carpathian Foredeep has been specified, the new directions of prospecting-exploration works and the prospective for hydrocarbons areas within the fore-Carpathian oil- and gas-bearing region have been determined; scientific novelty: pre-Neogene erosional surface of the Carpathian Foredeep is considered as a single buried paleo-river system, formed during the geological time from Maastrichtian to Lower Badenian, thrust-type dislocations are determined as one of the factors of reservoirs formation, suitable for oil and gas accumulation in the Mesozoic sequence within the Outer zone of Carpathian foredeep, it was established that the main condition of hydrocarbons’ traps formation in the top of the Mesozoic complex is the presence of the closed positive structural forms in the pre-Neogene erosional surface; spheres of use: oil and gas geology.
