The thesis suggests with a new approach to reconstruct the means of war conception representation in consciousness of old (Greek, Latin) and modern European (English, German and Ukrainian) speakers; complex methods for the analysis of these means have been developed; cognitive and semantic interpretation of the war nominations in explanatory lexicographical and etymological sources of the Greek, Latin, English, German and Ukrainian languages has been implemented; the means of war conception verbalization in the texts of different epochs, authors and genres have been determined; it sets qualitative changes in the concept WAR nomination, based on the universal and idioethnic components of their meanings in synchrony and diachrony; evolutionary model of worldview ideas about war from antiquity till modernity has been presented.
