Essay

The thesis is aimed at studying the correlation between the main stomatological diseases and the features of metabolism and mineralization of bony tissue as well as structural-functional state of the bones of supporting skeleton and alveolar process among the children who permanently reside in ecologically adverse regions of Ukraine. High rates of prevalence and intensity of dental caries among the residents of controlled territories have been revealed and their dynamics during nine years of observations have been estimated. The correlation between the form of caries activity, several indicators of calcium-regulating systems and biochemical markers of osteogenesis has been established. The correlation between the severity of gingivitis and mineral density of the alveolar process and structural-functional state of bony tissue has been revealed. A pathogenetically substantiated complex of measures on prevention and treatment of main stomatological diseases among the children of ecologically adverse regions has been developed and its high clinical efficiency has been proven.
