Object – condition and position of unerupted and impacted teeth, surgical approaches to their treatment; aim – to improve the treatment efficacy of patients with tooth retention; methods - clinical, radiographic, morphologic, mathematical; novelty – clinical types of tooth retention have been systematized, possible causes of tooth retention have been scientifically proven; results – clinical and anatomical systematization of tooth retention types has been suggested, device to determine angulation of misplaced unerupted teeth has been worked out, method of surgical exposure of the crown of unerupted tooth and atypical extraction of impacted maxillary and mandibular third molars; introduced – into medical practice and process of studies; branch - dentistry.
