Essay

Object of research - the processes which occur in turbine stages at partial flow rate regimes. Objective - the increasing of cogeneration turbine efficiency by improvement the low-pressure cylinder (LPC) operation at partial flow rate regimes. Research methods - the methods for experimental research of full-scale LPC at different operating regimes; statistical methods for processing the results. Theoretical and practical effects - the picture of the development of near-sleeve separation and rotating vortex at partial flow rate regimes is defined on the basis of the proposed methods for the LPC flow of turbine series T-250/300-240 when changed the relative volumetric flow rate at the last stage; the rational operating regimes of the turbine are chosen when given production of thermal and electric energy. Novelty - the methods for determining the region boundary position which occupied by rotating vortex and near-sleeve separation are first constructed; the equations for determining the no-loading regimes and power loss at partial flow rate regimes are refined. Degree of implementation - the obtained results are used at Kharkov heat power station and can be embedded on other stations, which used the cogeneration turbines series T. Area of application - power engineering
