Essay

Object of the study: diseases of a thyroid gland (TG) at the population of Ukraine and biologically active elements role in TG pathology development. Aim of the study: to research the level of iodine maintenance and prevalence of diffuse goiter at children of the Chernigiv region, to find out incoming to an organism of biologically active elements, important for its development: calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, selenium, and to estimate efficiency of mass iodic prophylaxis with use of food salt with the different maintenance of iodine. Methods of the investigation and equipment: epidemiological, clinical, biochemical, instrumental, statistical methods; atomic emission spectrometer "Optima 2100 DV Perkin Elmer" (USA), the ultrasonic scanner "SLE-101PC". Theoretical and practical results: On the basis of TG condition studying and trace elements of children of the Chernigov area supplying, efficiency of selenium preparations in treatment of a goiter, definition of the optimum maintenance of iodine in iodated salts in work are proved new positions which expand representations about the diffuse goiter development, in particular deficiency of selenium, at the population of the Chernigov region and methods of preventive maintenance and treatment of this pathology, in particular, it is shown, that diffuse goiter treatments at simultaneous use of selenium and iodine preparations is more efficient, in comparison with use only iodine preparations. Novelty: For the first time cluster research of children iodic security in all districts of the Chernigov region is spent. Optimal level of iodine in iodated salts for mass preventive maintenance carrying out is defined, the complex estimation of influence of zinc, iron, selenium, copper, calcium, magnesium on development of a goiter in the population of the Chernigov region is spent. It is proved that deficiency of selenium in the Chernigov region together with deficiency of iodine is the factor of influence on development of TG pathology. Degree of introduction: "The Regional target program on prevention of the diseases, caused by iodic insufficiency for 2012-2016 in the Chernigiv region" is developed and submitted to the Chernigiv regional state administration management of public health services. Field of application: endocrinology.
