Object - the theoretical works Robert Bly and European Surrealists and his books "Silence in the Snowy Fields", "The Light Around the Body", "Sleepers Joining Hands". Purpose - to highlight artistic characteristics and problems of poetry by R.Bly. Methods - historical and comparative analysis, historical and cultural concept. The creative work of R.Bly as one of the famous representatives of surrealists is analysed in the thesis. The analysis of his literary activity has been done in the context of surrealistic literature. Special attention is paid to the evolution of the poet in the aspect of a new stylistic and poetic devices which were used by him. The particular place is given to the philosophical background of R.Bly's system of poetic thinking, to the typological features of his poetics in the surrealist's context, to his original individual poetic manner. The chief literary-aesthetic principles of poetic's thinking: the peculiarity of image creating, searches for a new poetic language, orientation on art experiment are analyzed in the work. It also offers a complex approach to analyses of his poetic innovation as such aesthetic-literary phenomenon that comes out of the poet's outlook and world perception. The main Bly's books of the 60 - 70-s are in the center of investigation. Sphere - educational process.
