Essay

The thesis presents the study of genre features of modernistic novel. On the basis of cognitive method it is proved that modernistic novel is a genre form that was formed in a period of modernism in a few stages and branched on sharp-edged varieties. The research of novel forms of the indicated period determines that author centering of modernistic work influenced the genre constants and modifiers of a novel.The following varieties of modernistic novel are investigated: symbolist-decadent, impressionistic, expressionism, constructivism, surrealism. It is shown that on the basis of realistic novel the forms of intellectual and existentialism novel formed in time of modernism.
