Essay

The effect of ion-neutral collisions on charging and screening of macroparticles in a weakly ionized plasma is analyzed on the basis of the numerical solution of the model kinetic equations. The dependencies of the particles charge on the frequency of ion-neutral collisions are obtained for different particles sizes. It is shown that the particle potential in a collisional plasma has a Coulomb type asymptotical behavior. The influence of ion-neutral collisions on the ion drag force acting on a moving particle is examined. It is shown that the ion drag force changes its direction as the ion mean free path decreases.
