Essay

The dissertation, conducted in the filed of modern pragmatics, is characterized by applying the communicative-pragmatic approach to the study of utterances expressing agreement/disagreement, which has facilitated the analysis and description of means of their realization in modern English artistic discourse and the research into their pragmatic characteristics. This approach has fostered the development of multilevel and integrated analysis of speech acts of agreement/disagreement in modern English.
