Essay

The thesis is devoted to synthesis and investigation of metal-organic frameworks based on 1,2,4-triazole functionalized adamantane, biadamantane and diamantane. The crystal chemistry of a bitopic ligand tr2ad is more sensitive to the specific coordination preferences imposed by the central atoms (AgI, CdII, СuII, CoII) and the dimensionality of the resulting arrays is variable. A mixed-ligand approach based on the complementary role of N,N-azoles with short inorganic or organic bridges shows promising perspectives in the design of MOFs, thus integrating discrete tetranuclear coordination clusters into extended networks.
