Kutya M. Peculiarities of forest resources inventory and usage in Kyiv recreational forests.

The thesis deals with the methodological foundations development of sampling inventory of recreational forests in Kyiv to assess their forest mensuration and landscape recreational rates, and to determine the usage amounts of the main types of forest resources and useful properties of these forests. The peculiarities of the spatial structure of recreational forests have been defined, in particular, the mathematical model of trees quantity on a circular plots has been worked out basing on trees average diameter; the model of type of forest-park landscape depending on the relative density of tree stands and quantity of trees on circular plots; the table of distances from the central point to the n-th tree for each type of forest-park landscape has been built. Using GIS analysis and interpretation results of satellite images of a high spatial distinction the mathematical model of density of pine stands canopy depending on the vegetation index NDVI has been elaborated. It can be used in practice to identify forest-park landscapes according to free public images. According to the attendance registration of Kyiv parks, their actual, optimum and limit recreational capacity have been founded, which shows the forests recreational potential. The analytic hierarchy method has been used to identify plants that primarily need in management and improvement activities.
