Essay

The thesis is devoted to investigation of features of generation and formation powerful pulse electron beams in triode high voltage glow discharge (HVGD) electrode systems with control low voltage non-self sustained driving discharge and of features of its parameters in pulse regime. Also technological gas discharge guns were elaborated. Analytical equations for longitude length of anode plasma, plasma ions concentration, time of current pulse formation and energetic balance in triode electron HVGD source electrode system in pulse operating regime were obtained in this work. Energetic balance in triode electron source and emission properties of cold cathode in pulse operation mode were investigated experimentally. Time parameters of current pulse formation for different triode electron source operation modes and different gas media were defined. Confirmation of proposed analytical equations by gained experimental data allows modeling of parameters of triode electron HVGD sources in pulse operation mode with 20% precision. Elaborated triode technological HVGD guns forming powerful pulse electron beams which can be used in electron beam welding and evaporation processes. Automatic control system which provides pulse beam modulation and stabilization of its energetic parameters with non-self sustained low voltage discharge in range up to 500 Hz and duration of pulses from 1 ms and more also were elaborated.
