Essay

Based on the analysis of transformation of experimental temperature dependences of the heat capacity of Sn2P2S6 crystals under the influence of hydrostatic pressure, coordinates of the tricritical Lifshitz point in the phase diagram of (PbySn1-y)2P2(SexS1-x)6 solid solutions are determined. The abnormal decrease of thermal conductivity with increasing pressure, which is found in ferroelectric phase of Sn2P2S6 crystals. Using cluster models of Sn2P2S6 crystals, which are constructed based on the results of ab initio calculation, the influence of size effects on the structural, electronic, vibrational and thermodynamic properties of tin thiohypodiphosphate crystals is investigated. Using the method of high-energy milling of the starting material (polycrystalline samples) the Sn2P2S6 nanoparticles are obtained and their thermal properties are investigated.
