Kirichok D. Chronic sinusitis systemic disorders and their correction within drug addicted patients

Dissertation is devoted to studying of chronic sinusitis systemic disorders within patients with injecting drug addiction. In this work we studied and systematized the peculiarities of clinical and laboratory manifestations of inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial area and paranasal sinuses, determined the changes of the nasal cavity functional state parameters (ciliated epithelium transport activity, mucous membrane secretory function, calorifier function, mucous membrane sensitivity and the hydrogen ion concentration (pH), defined the role of laboratory research methods and compared the results of their diagnostic value among them, justified indications for use of each of them, depending on the specific situation. We introduced the method of complex treatment of ENT patients with injection drug addiction, which includes surgery, substitutive therapy and hyperbaric oxygenation sessions. This method significantly improves the inflammation course and helps to reduce the prevalence of HIV infection, reduces the number and severity of septic complications, incapacitation and lethality, reduces the frequency of relapses among this category of patients and improves treatment results.
