Object of research. The process of formation of productive and reproductive qualities of heifers and cows of Charolais breed of Ukrainian selection. Subject of research. The young calves, heifers and cows of Charolais breed of Ukrainian selection, directions and values of the correlations, the degree of influence of various factors to productive and reproductive qualities of livestock, indicators of resistance of heifers. Research methods. Zootechnical, selection, analytical, biochemical, biometrics, economic. Scientific novelty of the obtained results. For the first time in the course of further improvement of the cattle of Charolais breed of Ukrainian selection were conducted comprehensive studies to determine the effectiveness of the application of selection techniques: inbreeding and its various levels, genotype of a bull, optimization of age and live weight of heifers during fertilization. The practical significance of the results. Based on the results of comprehensive research of productivity, of exterior indicators, of resistance, of reproductive ability of cows and heifers, the breeding techniques, aimed at accelerating the selection process of the formation of highly productive array of cattle of Charolais breed of Ukrainian selection of hummel type were implemented in practice.
