Essay

We have determined form and values of nanoparticles from which ultrathin films of silver and gold constituted and the fractal dimension of these films. We found and explained bands of surface plasmon resonance and interference effects in the spectra of ultra-thin films. With the help of various models we are determined parameters that are important for further modeling, calculated the local fields. We have developed a method for express analysis of the size distribution of the metal particles in hydrosols. It is demonstrated, that silver nanoparticles affect the luminescence spectral distribution of the porous silicon and composites "porous silicon - fluorescent dye".
