Krylova A. Financial Sector Development in Transition Economy of Ukraine

The main approaches of Ukrainian and foreign scientists to theoretical and practical foundations of financial sector are researched. The problems of Ukrainian financial sector's development are defined and conceptual approaches to solving them are offered. The economic essence of finance, financial system and financial sector is clarified, taking into account the types of relations arising from money movements. Methodological approaches to classifying financial system models are analyzed and a new approach to their classification is offered. The work outlines directions of financial sector's development that should be included in the Strategy of financial sector's development in Ukraine. A new institutional model of financial regulation and supervision is offered, which will make financial regulation and supervision of Ukrainian financial sector more effective, as well as ensure the implementation of macroprudential policy by the National Bank of Ukraine. A system of indicators as an assessment tool of the development of financial sector as a whole is worked out.
