3. The dissertation studies verbalization of emotions in newspaper publicist texts (interviews, speeches, statements, debates of British politicians) and analyses the peculiarities of direct and indirect nomination of positive and negative emotional states. It also singles out dominant lexemes, their synonyms and the most frequent combinations of direct and indirect nomination of emotions. Lexical means of expressing emotions and stylistic figures of speech have been described.
