Essay

The structure and properties of cast steel, plastic, and subjected to hot thermal processing. Increasing the toughness and the fracture toughness of metal railroad wheel rim by changing the structure of the cast steel structure under the action of hot plastic deformation and heat treatment. Microstructural analysis, mathematical statistics methods, light and scanning electron microscopy, electron microprobe. It is shown that in the cast steel formed after crystallization different origin austenite grain boundaries. Origin of austenite grain boundaries determines the type of structure formed in its decay. The regularity of education pro-eutectoid ferrite by decomposition of austenite in the cast, hot-worked and heat-treated steels for railway wheels. It has been established that the hot deformation of cast billets heat treatment of steel with 0,59 % C in the range 0 - 60 % significantly contributes to the improvement in mechanical properties. The recommendations for changes in the existing regimes of hot deformation wheel blanks in accordance with ГОСТ 10791-2011. Conducted research and industrial testing. Metallurgy.
