Essay

The Dissertation presents results of theoretical and experimental studies into the thermal and hydrodynamic characteristics of downstream film flows of water and sugar solutions. The modes of heat transfer ranged from nucleate boiling in films to evaporation from the film's free surface. The modified hydrodynamic model of parabolic viscous turbulence distribution outside laminar sublayer has been proposed, which led to the development of the liquid film heat transfer coefficient calculational methods within a rang of the evaporation form the interface. These correlations form a basis for the sizing and rating calculations of industrial film evaporators for sugar industries.
