Essay

Object: diabetic retinopathy (DRP). Purpose: To optimize the diagnosis early morphometric changes of the optic disk in patients with diabetes type I and type II by defining the basic parameters of the optic disk in patients with different stages and DRP severity and after panretinal laser photocoagulation by applying the retinal scanner. Methods: ophthalmological, color photography, fluorescein angiography, measurement of optic disc's morphometric parameters, panretinal laser photocoagulation, statistics; fundus camera FF 450, retinal scanner (Heidelberg retina Tomograph II (HRT II). Supplemented by scientific knowledge about the DRP current in patients with diabetes, found that the DRP progression from nonprofilerative mild stage to preproliferative stage was without changes in optic disk morphometric parameters. For the first time it was shown that the type of diabetes does not affect the nature of morphometric parameters changes of optic disc in patients with diabetes; it was proved that significant changes were not detected in morphometric parameters of diabetic patients in 1 month after the first phase of panretinal laser photocoagulation. Supplemented by scientific knowledge about DRP current. It was shown that in patients with diabetes vascular proliferation preceded by optic nerve fibers thickening of the retina. Results have been implemented into clinical practice and used in MI "4 City Hospital", Krivoy Rog Clinic "Kolozir", Dnepropetrovsk RCOH , MI "Kirovograd CHSMH", Transcarpathian RH named after A. Novak. Sphere of application: medicine, ophthalmology.
