Essay

On the basis of complex experimental studies and theoretical calculations it was proved the validity of the model of quantum well with high walls to describe the behavior of thermoelectric parameters in two-dimensional structures IV-VI. Considering the dependences of the Fermi energy and effective mass on the well width, there was calculated and built the dependences of Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power factor for nanofilms of compounds IV-VI on their thickness. It is shown that the resulting oscillation character of their profiles is in good agreement with the experimental data.
