Essay

The dissertation study analyses Etude opus by C.Debussy as an impressionist innovation in the history of piano technique and as a poetic presentation of impressions caused by contemplation of «audible landscape» (C.Debussy). Image-bearing world of Etudes Nos 1 – 12 is presented as a world of musical marines, insonified etudes of sea; various semantic figures are signposted (figures of seething wave, sea ripple marks, glittering fishes, etc.) Impressionist techniques of “differentiating game logic”, logic of elusion from certainty, such as language parameters (arabesque drawing, vertical structure, etc.), a method of interaction between player’s hands, a finger figure or instrument topography factor, were found.
