Essay

The object of the thesis research is the poetry collections of Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath, Adrienne Rich. The aim of the thesis is to outline the range of problems in the poetry of Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath, Adrienne Rich, give the gender analysis of their poetry motif and thematic structure, highlight the poetic peculiarities of "women's language" which are embodied in their texts. Methods used include a systematic approach, a comparative method, a motif analysis, a historical and cultural approach and a biographical approach. In the paper for the first time in Ukrainian literary studies the motif and thematic structure of the poetry of Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath, and Adrienne Rich has been thoroughly investigated and compared in the light of modern gender and feminist approaches. Moreover, a fundamental research of the "women's language" peculiarities in their texts has been carried out. The field of application is the academis process.
