The scientific work shows clarifying a number of issues of etiology, pathogenesis, prevention and mechanism of development and introducing new effective method for early diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with overweight and obesity based on the correction of metabolic and hormonal disorders using intervention with the diet, physical exercises and metformin according to developed protocols. A total of 100 children and adolescents with overweight and obesity and the control group of 35 healthy children and adolescents were observed. Markers of lipid metabolism in overweight and obesity are an increased level of total cholesterol as well as reduced levels of high density lipoproteins and normal levels of low density lipoproteins. The positive correlation of detection of the rate of abnormal liver echogenicity and its severity with the value of BMI was observed.
