Essay

Object: age and experimental cataract. Purpose:To justify the correction of metabolic status of вiotin in the system of medical treatment and prevention of age-related cataracts on the basis of experimentally-clinical study of its role in cataractogenesis. Methods: biomicroscopy of the lenses in rabbits, spectrophotometric determination of activity biotin enzyme pyruvatecarboxylase and enzyme performing the regeneration of вiotin in the body - biotinidase deficiency, a common complex ophthalmic examinations of patients, methods of statistical processing of obtained data. Supplemented by scientific data, that the modeling light of cataract development of pathological changes in the lens when biotin hypovitaminosis happensfaster. Received new evidence that suggest that prolonged exposure to light energy in the experiment does not lead to violation of the metabolic functions of biotin in the lens of the conditions of the introduction of additional biotin. For the first time found a violation of the metabolic status of biotin in patients age cataract. For the first time an inverse correlation between the rate of development of pathological process in the lens and the metabolic function of biotin. First obtained data about infringement of process of regeneration of biotin in patients with age cataract.
