Object - literary-critical works of O. Wilde and M. Kuzmin, which reflect the essential principles of aestheticism. Purpose - to reveal typological similarity of aesthetic principles of O. Wilde and M. Kuzmin' literary criticism. Methods - comparative-historical, comparative-typological, hermeneutical, historical-psychological, historical-cultural, contextual, narrative. Typological convergence of general principles of O. Wilde and M. Kuzmin's literary criticism and aesthetics is stated. In the course of the comparative study of O. Wilde and M. Kuzmin's literary-critical works the essence of art and artist, their role and tasks in the understanding of the critics is revealed. In comparative terms semantic content of the oppositions Beautiful and Ugly, Good and Evil is investigated. It is stated that the formation of the writers took place under the influence of the same factors (interest in the art of antiquity and the East, the art of the Middle Ages, "parnassians", "accursed poets", John Ruskin, Walter Pater, the Pre-Raphaelites). Personal reasons for the similarity of O. Wilde and M. Kuzmin's aesthetic are substantiated.
