The thesis is devoted to the investigate of theoretical and practical principles of formation and use of the financial potential of the regional development and to the substantiation of strategy of its strengthening. The economic maintenance of financial potential of regional development of region is exposed, its basic components and features are defined. Considerable attention is given to the substantiation of mechanism of formation and use of the financial potential of the region's development and system of its qualitative and quantitative assessment.
