Dyntu V. Crime situation as an element of crime criminal characteristic.

The thesis deals with theoretic and practical issues of crime situation as an element of criminal characteristic of crime. Structural elements of the crime criminal characteristic have been specified and analyzed in order to define the meaning of criminal characteristic in the context of crime investigation methodology. The authors understanding of crime situation, as well as place of crime situation in the structure of criminal characteristic of crime are determined. The thesis comprises classification of crime situation elements. Main directions of crime situation interrelation with a criminal, crime method and object of crime are considered in this thesis work. The work defines the program of crime situation investigation which comprises goals and tasks of investigation, as well as its methods, in particular investigative, secret investigative and operational investigative activities. It has been stated as well that a crime situation constitutes also a source of evidentiary information. The thesis work comprises main directions to apply information related to crime situation for carrying out secret investigative activities stipulated by the Article 271 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, namely control over crime through crime simulation.
