Pechkovska I. Comparative analysis of the splint usage made of composite materials, wired fibreglass in complex treatment of generalized periodontitis.

Thesis is dedicated to the usage of adhesive fibre splinting systems for splinting moving teeth of patients with periodontitis. Clinical, radiographic and laboratory studies proved high clinical efficacy of adhesive fibre splinting systems of domestic product in comparison with foreign analogue. Electron microscopy showed that the condition of joining of adhesive fibre splinting systems to hard dental tissues of domestic product does not differ in quality from the condition of joining of foreign analogue. Nanoindentation method determined hardness and elastic modulus of hard dental tissues and adhesive splint. The formula for calculating the hardness of composite material was developed. It gives the possibility to design splints with mechanical characteristics which resembles hard dental tissues. Proven the high clinical efficacy of adhesive splinting usage, wired with domestic fibreglass in complex treatment of patients with generalized periodontitis. Indication to adhesive fibre splinting has been designed.
